Join us for our annual Lawson Bar Outing on August 8th and 9th! This is a great opportunity to
prospect the legendary Lawson Bar, spend time with fellow club members, and hopefully find
some gold.
Board Member Waymon will have a pop-up canopy set up on August 8th from 10:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. Water and chips will be available. Be sure to stop by, say hello, check in, and see
how everyone is doing.
Lawson Bar is located on the South Umpqua River, which is designated essential salmon
habitat. During the outing, please use non-motorized prospecting equipment only.
Recommended equipment includes:
● Gold pan
● Sluice box
● Buckets
● Shovels
● Picks
● Classifier
● Snuffer bottle
Directions
From I-5 South, take Exit 102. Turn right, then after approximately 100 feet, turn left onto
Lawson Bar Road. Follow the road to the end at the river. You will be driving on a lg rock gravel
bar, please be careful.

Free Camping
● Free dispersed camping is available near Lawson Bar.

RV Camping

○ Dry camping is also available in the casino parking lot.

the river.
Hotels
Hotel accommodations are available at Seven Feathers Casino Resort or in nearby
Canyonville. Roseburg is approximately 20 minutes north of Lawson Bar if additional lodging is
needed.
